J Honeywood Karate Academy (JHKA) was formed in November 2017 by Sensei Jade Honeywood (3rd Dan). JHKA are members of the Frontier Karate Association, headed by former England International Sensei Paul Simmons 6th Dan.

Sensei Jade’s experience in Karate began at the age of 5. Her love of kumite (competition fighting) helped her to establish herself and gain selection onto the England National Karate Team from 2006-2008. Sensei Jade has been coached by many of Great Britains elite karate ka and coaches, Sensei Ticky Donavan (OBE), Sensei Wayne Otto (OBE), Sensei Willie Thomas, Sensei Molly Samuels, Sensei Tyrone Whyte and Sensei Ian Cole. Sensei Jade has won numerous medals at both English and British International Championships and a finalist at the EKF European Karate Championships in Izmir, Turkey.
Sensei Jade also competed in the Wado International Karate Federation (WIKF) World Championships in Texas, USA at the age of 15 and won a gold medal. She later on competed at the WIKF European Championships in Amsterdam, Holland where she also won a gold medal in her style of karate.
In 2022, Sensei Jade returned to the competition tatami to compete at the EKF Senior English Karate Championships. Sensei Jade made a spectacular comeback to win the her Senior English National title in the under 68 kilogram category. The spotlight final on the centre tatami was a phenomenal spectacle set up by the English Karate Federation. Held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, Sensei Jade won 4-0 in the final scoring an excellent head kick in the final second. Her coach Sensei Anthoni Everitt, believed in her from start to finish.
Sensei Jade has a first class BA (Hons) Degree in Sport, Leisure and Educational Development. Sensei Jade Honeywood holds the rank of 3rd Dan and is fully insured, DBS (enhanced) and first aid qualified and works in partnership with many local primary schools.
